About this course
A 3-month course, on campus or online, for IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training, built around the four test sections. Every week includes timed practice, writing tasks checked with band-score feedback and one-to-one speaking practice.
The course ends with full mock tests under exam conditions, so you know your expected band before booking the real test.
What you'll achieve
- Know every question type in the four sections
- Plan and write Task 1 and Task 2 answers within the time limit
- Speak fluently and confidently in all three parts of the Speaking test
- Know your expected band before you book the test
Requirements
Basic to intermediate English (able to read and write simple English). Matriculation or above recommended.
- Week1
Orientation and diagnostic test: test format, band descriptors and your target band
- Week2
Listening I: form and note completion, spelling and numbers
- Week3
Listening II: maps, multiple choice, matching and academic lectures
- Week4
Reading I: skimming, scanning and True / False / Not Given
- Week5
Reading II: matching headings, sentence completion and time management
- Week6
Writing Task 1: Academic graphs, charts and processes, or General Training letters; mid-course mock test
- Week7
Writing Task 2: essay types and structure
- Week8
Writing: coherence, vocabulary and grammar for a higher band; corrected essays
- Week9
Speaking Parts 1 and 2: fluent answers and cue cards
- Week10
Speaking Part 3: discussion and pronunciation
- Week11
Vocabulary and grammar for band 7 and above
- Week12
Final revision: two full mock tests with band scores and a one-to-one mock speaking test
